In this study, political and socio-cultural revolutions in Turkish National press were analyzed. It was seen that Mustafa Kemal Pasha and his ministers and officials had worked with the press in order to enable Turkish people to adopt Turkish revolution effectively and widely, and make it permanent. Undoubtedly, newspapers, the most important mass media in that era, were used intensively. In this study, the pieces of news in Hâkimiyeti Milliye, Milliyet, Akşam, Cumhuriyet, İkdam, Son Posta and Yarın newspapers, which had an essential role in Turkish National press, were scanned. Moreover, the articles of some effective writers of the era such as Yakup Kadri, Falih Rıfkı, Yunus Nadi, Siirt Mebusu Mahmut Bey, M. Zekeriya and Arif Oruç, who had articles in these newspapers, were identified.
The first part after providing general information on the press before Constitutional Monarchy period including the Republic period, detailed information was provided about the 1931 Press Law, 1st Press Conference and Turkish Press Association. In this respect, the views and evaluations of Turkish National press and columnists about 1931 Press Law, 1st Press Conference and Turkish Press Association.
The main title of the second part is “The Developments in Politics within Turkish National Press”. This part was analyzed under two sub-titles. The first one includes Free Republican Party, political rights given to women. Furthermore, the sub-titles contain caricatures in related Turkish National press.
The third part is “Developments in Socio-Cultural Area in Turkish National Press”. The sub-titles of the title include Alphabet Reform and National Schools, Turkish Historical Society and Turkish Language Society, Turkish Hearths, Community Centres and closing Darülfünun.
As a result, implementation phases of Turkish Revolution, its reflection within society, the attitude of bureaucracy were analyzed through the perspective of Turkish press.
