İyonosfer Dinamiğinin Analizi ve Model Tanıma Çalışmaları
Abstract
Ionosphere is the outer layer of the atmosphere. The major property of the
ionosphere is the ionization of ionospheric layers by solar radiation. Because of
ionozation in the ionosphere, the ionosphere plays important role in
electromagnetic wave propagation. Ionospheric modelling is of great importance in
short wave communication as well as in satellite based navigation.
The aim of this thesis is to model the ionosphere based on the vertical electron
content time series which were estimated indirectly on the specific locations of the
Earth via IONOLAB-TEC methodology. Targeted ionospheric models are closedbox
type models that are compatible with the estimated time series. Identification
of ionospheric time series models are accomplished via a novel method based on
canonical correlation analysis. Another goal of the study is to determine the
periodic structures observed in VTEC time series. Within this framework, the
effects of tidal waves from the Moon and Earth’s Free Oscillations are observed
from VTEC time series.
