Abstract

The painful experiences in the history have caused deep wounds in the soul of humanity. These experiences have been the subject of art. In this thesis titled “Visual Search on Mental Depression in Human”; mental depression, the reflections of the philosophy of existentialism on art, the perspectives of guiding artists from the past to the present and their effects on their Works, and their transfer to the present are emphasized. The works presented were analyzed by giving anecdotes from the lives of some artists working on mental depression. Considering the art-based narratives that are thought to support the subject, works of art with spiritual depth, which are about various painful experiences, and the focus is about mental depression, and then visual reflectors are examined. In addition, the concepts of visual search on mental depression in human were examined.

In the research, digital manipulation was performed by applying the psychological emotional states of people and their reflections to the visuals. In this direction, it is aimed to reflect the effects of mental depression through visuals. Based on the psychological states of the subject, all the mental states of the past and the present moment (longing, denial, anger, grief, etc.) were transferred through digital manipulations.
