Abstract
The purpose of this master's thesis is to calculate the inter-carrier interference in visiblelight communications due to clipping of the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM) signal and also to examine the distribution of these interferences. The proposed method is presented as pre-study for the methods which increase thespectrum efficiency in ACO-OFDM technique.Taylor Series Expansion is used to express the interference signal causedby the clipping process. The effect of the number of terms used in Taylor SeriesExpansion is analysed with the simulation results. In this thesis, the strengths andweaknesses of ACO-OFDM technique are additionally presented with both theoreticalapproaches and simulation results as compared to DCO-OFDM technique. Moreover, channel characteristics are defined for indoorvisible light communication. It is pointed out that the clipping noise model is a Gaussiandistribution with respect to the simulations.
