nternational law transforms as well within the scope of international power relations. As a result of this transformation, a new legal discourse has taken shape. This is why, the international law does not define international power relations. The legal discourse that was utilized in international power relations after the 2000s has caused the humanitarian intervention to turn into a responsibility to protect. The idea that countries had unlimited sovereignty in regards to their inner affairs had been abandoned and instead, the countries which couldn't meet the requirements of the international system have been subjected to an international intervention called the responsibility to protect, on the grounds of ceasing internal disturbances. International law and the political economy of responsibility to protect principle will be discussed within the thesis.
