Özel Eğitim İçin Oyun Temelli Öğrenme Platformunun Tasarlanması ve Geliştirilmesi
Özet
The current dissertation aims to design and develop a game-based learning platform (GBLP) for special education. Based on the design research model, a needs analysis was conducted for the literature review and to determine the existing situations, expectations and needs of the users in the first phase. In the second phase, designs were made regarding the determination of attainments, the creation of goals, the analysis of platform components, content creation, and the preparation of the platform's user guide for teachers. Third phase was completed in four cycles. In the first third cycle teachers' training sessions were conducted. In the fourth cycle, usability study was carried out in the authentic environment. The study group, consists 17 people, including one administrator and teachers working in a special education school. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, system-usability scale (SUS), observation, step recorder and logs. Data were analyzed using content-analysis, frequency, percentage, mean, and SUS score calculations. According to the SUS, the website’s SUS score was calculated as 78. According to the content-analysis about the usage of the platform, the teachers stated that they were satisfied with using the platform. They also stated that using the platform, contributed to the performance of both themselves and their students. As a result; a model and principles regarding the design and development process of GBLP enabling the design of motion-based and interactive educational games for individuals with special needs in motor skills to support teachers in monitoring and reporting the development of these individuals were also presented.
