In this thesis titled “Visual Reflections of the Problem of Statelessness in Child Portraits”, the concept of migration and its factors, the concept of refugees and the effects of the image of home as an object and place on refugee children, the effects of the industrial revolution on migration, the themes of migration and refugee in Modern and Contemporary Art, Contemporary Concepts such as Children's Images Changing over Images of Deterritorialization in Art, and 'Visual Reflections of the Problem of Statelessness in Child Portraits' as an application were examined.
Anecdotes from the lives of some artists’ works on migration and refugee issues were presented and their works were analyzed. In addition, it has been tried to analyze the new countries where refugee or immigrant artists live effects on their works of art and culture. The effects of the periods that constitute the turning point of history on the phenomenon of migration and the production of art through them were examined.
Using the portraits of children, which are the subject of the study, and portraits of refugee children, oil paint, watercolor and pattern works were applied on old nostalgic curtains. Thus, it has been tried to determine a projection of the extent to which children's influence on art, their direction and sensitivities to art are reflected in the works as a whole, taking into account their position in society, public situations and situations. The psychological states reflected in the paintings and the reflections of the cultures of the past are discussed.
