Pituitary adenoma is the third most common tumor with 15% among adult primary brain tumors. Its symptoms are broad spectrum due to the hormone-regulating function of the pituitary gland. Although there are studies on the effectiveness of different types of exercise in different populations, there is a lack of studies involving exercise in individuals with pituitary adenoma. Based on this shortcoming, the aim of this study is to examine the effects of strength training and yoga applied together with aerobic training on biochemical factors, physical performance and quality of life in individuals with pituitary adenoma. Ten patients with pituitary adenoma were included in this randomized crossover study. The patients were randomly divided into 2 groups as the 1st group (mean age 5213.50 years) in which aerobic exercises were applied together with the strengthening exercises, and the 2nd group in which yoga was applied (mean age 41.8014.05 years). After the break, strengthening exercises combined with aerobic exercises were applied to the 2nd group, and yoga was applied to the 1st group. Evaluations were performed at the beginning and end of both exercise programs. These assessments were evaluated by biochemical factors (IL6, IL1beta, and TNFalpha) with Human ELISA kit, physical performance with Timed Up and Go Test (TUG), quality of life with Functional Assessment of Brain Cancer (FACT-br), sleep with Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), fatigue with Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS). Sexual function was assessed with the Female Sexual Function Index and the International Sexual Function Index-5 (FSFI, IIEF-5), anxiety and depression with the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HAD), and cognitive levels with the Montreal Cognitive Rating Scale (MOCA). At the end of the study, it was observed that both exercise approaches did not change IL6, IL1beta and TNFalpha levels (p>0.05). While improvement was observed in the results of TUG, HAD-anxiety and MOCA in the aerobic exercises training group combined with the strengthening exercise (p<0.05); In the group in which yoga training was applied, BKFTD and MOCA results were improved (p<0.05) It was concluded that aerobic exercises combined with strength training and yoga had no effect on biochemical factors in patients with pituitary adenoma, but were effective in improving physical performance, quality of life and associated symptoms. It is thought that this population, which has to live with many comorbidities after surgical and medical treatment and is not seen as a target group in terms of exercise, can benefit from exercises performed with a physiotherapist.
