In this study, it is examined how the narratives of gender, hegemonic masculinity and nationalism are competed in a reality show in the context of the audience’s interpretations. The aim of this research, which is based on the question of “What is competed in ‘Survivor’?”, is to reveal the relationship between the meanings produced in the ‘Survivor’, which has created a wide audience from the age of seven to seventy since the date the program started broadcasting, and the decodings of audience of different ages, sexes and statuses within the framework of the topic modelling. How dominant narratives and nationalist discourses on gender are reproduced in the program and how the program is interpreted by the audience in this framework is important for this study. Within this framework, Survivor’ program which is the most watched reality show in Turkey, was analyzed based on topic modelling. As a result of the analysis, it was concluded that the narratives of nationalism, traditional gender roles and discourses of hegemonic masculinity were frequently reproduced by the contestants and commentators of the program and participants included in the research.
