Çevrimiçi Rehberli Araştırma Yaklaşımının Altıncı Sınıf Fen Öğrencilerinin Başarı, Bilimsel Süreç ve Okuduğunu Anlama Becerilerine Etkisi

Educators have been working for many years to improve student achievement at the national and international level. It may be possible to say that hands-on activities aimed at improving student achievement will contribute to students' meaningful and permanent learning. This research aimed to study the effects of the online guided inquiry approach to improve the achievement, scientific process skills and reading comprehension skills -of sixth grade students in a school with a middle-upper socioeconomic level. In line with the determined purpose, 60 students enrolled in the sixth grade of a public school in the Konyaaltı district of Antalya province in the 2020-2021 academic year constituted the study group of the research. The distribution of the students to the experimental and control groups was determined as thirty students for each group. While the achievement test for the Systems in Our Body unit, the scientific process skills test and the reading comprehension test were applied to the experimental group in which the online guided inquiry approach was carried out and the control group in which the traditional method was carried out, the achievement test was applied again as a retention test six weeks after the interaction that lasted for 30 lesson hours. As a result of the analyzes designed with repeated measurements, it was found that there was a significant difference in favor of the experimental group in the development of achievement, scientific process skills and reading comprehension skills. As a result, it can be said that the online guided inquiry approach has a positive effect on students' achievement, scientific process skills and reading comprehension skills.
