Animation can be defined as the transformation of static objects into moveable form according to a specific construction. Motion graphics are pieces of animation or footage that creates the illusion of different kinds of motion or rotation, and are combined with audio for creativity purposes (Crook ve Peter, 2016:12).
Motion graphic design is extremely important in the design industry to show that graphic design is not static. This study investigates whether some of the fictions, which are difficult to express and requires risky and expensive video editing, can be better expressed with the motion graphic design technique. The study also questions motion graphic design not only in terms of risk and cost dimensions, but also in terms of expression power and its effects. In the first chapter of the study, motion graphics concept is introduced and its connection with animation is briefly explained. In the second chapter, the development of animation in the world and Turkey is given within the historical context. In the third chapter, the relationship between graphic design and animation is explained in detail. In the fourth chapter, motion graphics production methods are discussed. In the fifth chapter, two-dimensional vector animation is introduced and the related programs are examined. In the sixth section, examples of motion graphics are given, and in the seventh chapter, the application of two-dimensional vector animation in motion graphics is given. In the conclusion, the contribution of using two-dimensional vector animation in motion graphics is discussed.
