The Governance of International Humanitarian Order: Non-Coercive Practices of the United Nations
Abstract
The main purpose of this study is to present the theoretical and practical dimensions of the governance of international humanitarian order and the role of the United Nations in this governance process. In this respect, the thesis analyzes the international governance in the post-Cold War era with descriptive and interpretive methods.In general, the thesis argues that the concepts of governance, humanitarian order and human rights are closely related to each other and the United Nations at the key point for all these concepts. At that time, making definitions of governance, humanitarian order and human rights by using liberal theory and global governance approach; presenting these concepts essentials; analysis of the place of governance of humanitarian order in international arena, considering human rights and criticism of the United Nations as an implementer of governance are aimed.
