Abstract

In the design process, the means and methods of expressing the designer's thoughts and experiences have increased from the past to the present. In this process, where the designer presents all his data creatively, he aims to convey his cognitive process efficiently with thinking design tools and digital design methods. The diversity of thinking design tools and the use of digital design methods in the entire design process has been a research topic for this study. “Thinking Design Tools” and “Digital Design Methods” that we use during the design process are examined together and under separate headings and their effects on the process are discussed. In the introduction part of the study, the approach, purpose, scope, method and literature review were made. Approaches related to the subject have been expressed. In the second part of the study, the designer's expression methods are given under the title of "Thinking Design Tools and Learning by Doing". Tools and methods that are used effectively in the design process are defined and their importance for the designer is mentioned. The focus of the research was determined as the design process and the designer. In the third part of the study, the effects of "Thinking Design Tools" on the design process were examined. In the sub-headings of this section, thinking design tools and digital design methods have been analyzed together and separately. In the fourth part of the study, "Digital Design Methods" were examined together with the subtitles and their effects on the process were revealed. Information was given to the reader, and analysis of digital design methods and the design process was presented. vi In the fifth part of the study, all the information obtained was analyzed and examined on the example of the designer. Inferences and analyzes have been made for all the issues discussed in the previous chapters. Data were obtained for "Thinking Design" and "Digital Design Methods", which are among the most creative actions of the design process. The data obtained are expressed in the conclusion section.
