This study aims at investigating the multilateral relations among charismatic leadership, organizational loyalty and teacher performance according to the perceptions of teachers at state schools in Ankara. The researcher investigated if teachers’ perceptions changed according to gender, age, marital status, level of education, professional seniority and how long teachers had been working with the current school manager. The study has an exploratory mixed method design, requiring use of qualitative and quantitative research methods. The qualitative part is a case study, while the quantitative part has a correlational survey model. The study group of the qualitative part includes 16 teachers at state schools in the 2020-2021 Academic Year. The population of the quantitative part includes 13513 teachers working at state schools in Altındağ, Çankaya, Etimesgut, Gölbaşı, Keçiören, Mamak, Pursaklar, Sincan and Yenimahalle. The sample, determined via stratified sampling method, includes 514 teachers working at state schools in the abovementioned districts of Ankara. The qualitative data were analyzed via content analysis. The analyis reveals school managers’ leadership behaviours increase teachers’ level of positive feelings and performance. The quantitative data were analyzed via descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, regression and path analysis. The findings show teachers often think their school managers are charismatic leaders. Teachers have a high level of organizational loyalty and job performance. Teacher performance is predicted by charismatic leadership and organizational loyalty; organizational loyalty is predicted by charismatic leadership. Charismatic leadership influences teacher performance with the mediating effect of organizational loyalty.
