65 Yaş Üstü Bireylerin Aile İçi Yaşlı İstismarı Konusundaki Değerlendirmeleri
Abstract
The aim of this study is, to determine the status of domestic elder abuse (physical, sexual, emotional, economic, neglect and abondenment) and what kind of abuse elderly suffered with the elderly s self-evaluation and to examine who are the abusers.The research covers 309 outpatient elders, 212 women and 97 men, who applied Ankara University Faculty of Medicine Cebeci Hospital Aydın Doğan Geriatrics Clinic from 23 July to 15 October 2012. In this study, discussion of the findings related to elder abuse is based on an ecological approach. At the end of the study, it was found that 70.9% of the elderly was abused any one or more than one type of elder abuse. Abuse forms are, 4.2% physical, 0.3% sexual, 64.1% emotional, 12.6% economic and 26.9% neglect and abandonment. Being a woman, assessment of health status as bad very bad and assessment of health status as medium has been identified as significant risk factors.
