Toplumsal Cinsiyet Açısından Yeniden Evlenmeler: Kadın Ve Erkekler Gözünden Niteliksel Bir İnceleme

Abstract

The aim of this study is to figure out the reasons leading to remarriage after divorce with gender perspective with special reference to divorced men and women. In the research it was used qualitative methodology. The data of the research has been formed with phenomenological approach based interviews with 20 participants (10 men and 10 women) who remarried after the divorce. Interviews include participants assessments about the first marriage, divorce and remarriage process and their families formed by the remarriage. The results of the research show that, after divorce, men and women feel the social pressure caused by the gender, all areas of their life and this situation plays an important role on making decision on the remarriage. Men have expressed that, being a divorced person is perceived as a failure in the social context and they evaluated the remarriage as a return to their previous life .
