Şizofreni Tanısı Almış Bireylerin Ailelerinin Bakımverme Deneyimleri ve Sosyal Destek İlişkilerinin Psikiyatrik Sosyal Hizmet Temelinde İncelenmesi
Özet
Schizophrenia is chronic brain disorder which is generally seen between the ages of 15 and 25 and causing serious alterations in a person s feelings, thoughts and behaviors. Being diagnosed with schizophrenia deeply affects individuals and families. With diagnosis caregiving period starts, domestic relations change and a need for social support for dealing with the nature of the disorder and symptoms. The main aim of this study is to understand personal burdens affecting the family caregiving the individual who has diagnosed with schizophrenia and to sophisticatedly analyzethe stress family members live through the duration of the disorder, dealing strategies used, the received and needed social support, and effects of caregiving to schizophrenia patient in large socio-cultural environment. Toward this basic goal, in depth interviews according to half structured interview guide have been carried out with the members of 12 families having a person diagnosed with schizophrenia.
