Evli Kadın ve Erkeklerin Toplumsal Cinsiyet Rolleriyle İlgili Algılarının Aile İşlevlerine Yansıması

Abstract

Problems that family face and developing solutions to these problems are among the main goals of social work. Rapidly changing structure of society, differentiation of man and women roles, and changing gender perception of individuals affect the family. This situation is also reflected to several functions of family such as problem solving, communication, roles, affective responsiveness, affective involvement and behavior control. Problems in families and negative reflection of the problems to the functions of family increases the importance of social service for families. In this study, the parents of students in Ahmet Vefik Paşa Elementary School, from 1st to 8th grade, in Çankaya district of Ankara were reached. We aimed to define the gender perception and related difficulties of married males and females in their point of view. Thus, the goal of the study is definition of the effects of perception of gender roles, shared roles, and conflict situations on the functions of family.
