The aim of this study is to determine the geometry and measurement learning
domains at the secondary school level in Mathematics Curriculum (MAC) of
Turkey, Canada and Singapore to reveal similarities and differences. This study is
structured as content analysis from qualitative research procedures. In this study,
data was collected by document review from qualitative data collection methods.
Documents MAC are available on the official web pages of the relevant countries.
The obtained documents were translated into Turkish by the researcher and
opinions were received from three experts. Data in the study was compared by
using the descriptive analysis from qualitative data analysis methods. As regards
the findings, although there are differences in names in the sub-learning domains
of MAC, it has been determined that an important part of their content is similar to
each other. It was deduced that concepts were described in MAC of Turkey, while
relationships between concepts were emphasized in MAC of Canada (Ontario)
and Singapore contents. Depending on this result, it can be said that there are
less transitions of grade and relations between geometric concepts related to the
geometry and measurement learning domain at the secondary school level in
MAC of Turkey. It’s thought that the findings obtained can be important in terms of
developing the geometry and measurement learning domain at the secondary
school level in MAC of Turkey.
