Şuurlu Muhafazakârlık: Mustafa Şekip Tunç Düşüncesinde Birey, Toplum, Siyaset
Abstract
Ord. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şekip Tunç (1886-1958), who has contributed to the institutionalization of philosophy and psychology in Turkey, has also been known as a philosopher, spiritualist, scientist and artist. After the War of Independence, Tunç contributed to the popularization of Bergsonian philosophy in Turkey and has become a leading figure of Bergsonism. Mustafa Şekip Tunç, as part of his emphasis on multiplicity of cosmos, interprets life as a continuous condition of becoming and movement . By going through a perspective stressing human self-hood and critical concepts of Bergsonian philosophy such as durée and creative evolution ; Şekip Tunç has defined traditions as a bridge between the past and the future, and defended the idea that life could only progress towards future by the impulse excerpted from the past.
