Nowadays, learning languages is considered one of the necessities of life. Learning languages is essential to discover the culture of other countries, to benefit from its technology and to open new doors to the world. Language, is the bridge that links the countries of the world. Foreign language teaching and learning are developing day by day. Besides language skills and classroom activities; one of the basic elements of language learning and teaching is to make errors. Linguistic errors actually improve the language learning process. The roles of errors; is to check/ examine the method used by the teacher, to learn the source of the errors made by the student and to seek solutions to prevent the errors from repetition. This research investigates the syntactic errors made by students whose mother tongue is Arabic, in learning Turkish as a foreign language. In terms of syntactic typology, the differences and similarities between Arabic and Turkish were investigated. In addition, this research aims to detect how the differences between the two languages affect the learning of Turkish as a foreign language. Data were collected by interviewing 21 students of the level (B1-B2) from both the University of Jordan and the Amman Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center. The aim of the study is to determine the syntactic errors that students make in their speaking skills. The syntactic errors obtained were analyzed by using the error analysis method in order to determine the source of frequent errors and suggestions were presented to solve these errors.
