Unmanned Aerial Vehicles usage is increased on many areas thanks to fast developments on technology. Especially ease of use has been provided by increasing autonomy level so, UAV become utilizable by everybody. After all, many UAV based application seen on humanitarian applications such as disaster management and medical transportation.
UAV routing problem is discussed on this thesis report as the first step of a high level autonomous UAV system. Routing problem of more than one UAVs has been solved on two different scenarios with two different solution methods. First of these solutions is that grouping expected visiting points with Set Covering Problem Method and define optimal route for each of UAV in those groups with Travelling Salesman Problem Method. The second one is that determining routes for each UAV with Vehicle Routing Problem Method.
Considering the problems described above and the current pandemic conditions, the routing problem of more than one UAV has been studied in sample applications for the benefit of society. In the first application, a city center was divided into manageable parcels, potential crowded areas were determined within these parcels, and it was studied on determining the route of the UAVs to perform the surveillance mission with UAVs in these areas. In the other application, it has been studied on the delivery of medicals from city hospitals to neighborhood centers by UAVs.
The first applications has been studied in Munich as one of the most crowded and touristic city of Europe. The 10 km2 determined area in Munich city center is divided into 64 parcels and solution is developed for this area. The second application is applied on Çankaya District of Ankara. The solutions is developed in order to transport medicals from Ankara Bilkent City Center to 117 neighborhood centers.
