Economic development is one of the most important economic targets of the countries that strive to attain. Development of a country is possible if the regions of the country may primarily develop. Therefore, regional analysis gained importance since the Second World War. While theories which cover regional analysis rapidly enlarged, it has been understood that New Economic Geography has a distinctive place because of its enhanced integrated perspective. On the other hand, the means of development is changing in terms of changing world conditions and internationally capital based investments is gaining permanent importance. Accordingly, this study focuses on the determinants of foreign direct invesment which is accepted as a development mean, in line with New Economic Geography Theory approach, which is one of the most popular theory among the regional economic development theories.
