Özet
Foreign direct investment (FDI) is defined as an important channel to increase firm productivity and economic growth in the host country. This study examines the effects of foreign direct investment on Turkey s economic growth through the effects of FDI on productivity performance of firms using firm-level data for the years 2003-2011. Within this context, the direct and indirect effects of FDI on the productivity of domestic firms namely, horizontal and vertical spillovers effects that arising from these investments are also investigated. The other purpose of the study tries to answer the question whether the export of firm determines horizontal and vertical spillovers. As far as the relationship between horizontal and vertical linkages of FDI and export is concerned, there are three main research questions of the study.
