Abstract

Human born into a sense of belonging and a place waiting for himself or herself. The first sense of belonging, the most basic experience of all of us, is home and family. In time we leave the places we live in and experience ether olaces, but modem lifestyle positions the subject to a different place and in time, it can give different direction to sense of belonging. It doesn’t seem possible to feel a strong sense of belonging because of a radical break from the sense of belonging in the past. Dormitory which is the second main place of woek, is like a simulation of house. It is an imitation place that promises to feel home but is not home. The situation offered by the dormitory is between reality and scene. Dormitories that is created to reproduce and maintain the need for shelter, has an authoritarian order. As everthing repeats in the same order. The days progress in an atmosphere of various re-enactment, replay and playback processes. Individuals exposed to this order, keep pace with time from participating in their situation, and they repeat every moment. With this study, it is aimed to get a new perpective by settling on the concept of belonging.
