Turkish Coal Enterprises (TKİ), which is the largest coal producer in our country, markets the coal, which they produced by means of conventional practices, either directly or (mostly)by cleaning and categorizing into different qualities. In many plantsthe types of coal, which are put on the market after washing, are prepared in traditionally standardized properties and has been put on the market up to now. Especially by modifications which will be held on the particle sizes of washed coal, which is put on the market, both the enrichment can be provided more easily and more efficiently, and supply of coal products of different qualities will be possible.
For this purpose and within the scope of this thesis, the washability properties (between the fraction range of -150 + 6.3 mm) of raw coals which are fed to DereköyWashery, TunçbilekWashery and ÖmerlerWashery (all plants are under TKİ authority) are defined as a result of the laboratory studies. The washability data (between the fraction range of -150 + 0.5 mm) of coals which are related to Çan, Eynez Opencast, Eynez Underground, South Kısrakdere, Işıklar A, Işıklar ED Panosu and Sarıkaya (all mines are under TKİ authority) are obtained from the General Directorate of TKİ.
Washability datas which were obtained for all areas evaluated by drawing washability curves. In addition Tunçbilek, Ömerler and Dereköywashabilitydatas were analyzed on the basis of %ash and %weight.
The washability data (between the fraction range of -75+6.3 mm) of raw coals at TunçbilekWashery, were obtained by crushing them in the laboratory. The differences and similarities of coals between the fraction ranges of -150 + 6.3 mm and -75 + 6.3 mm at TunçbilekWashery, are shown. Simultaneously, data of coals from Dereköy, Tunçbilek and ÖmerlerWasheries (between the fraction range of -150 +6.3 mm), which is reducedto the range of -75 + 6.3 mm by simulation were compared to the washability data of coals (between the fraction range of -75 + 6.3 mm), which were obtained in the laboratory, and then the assessments were made.
Washability data for all areas are used in the simulation and new flow charts have been created. The modeling parameters of the equipment in the plants designed for each areaswere determined and the products were obtained by simulation. These products were compared with the products in the existing plants and the simulation proved to work well.
In addition, performance evaluations were made for the plant equipments designed by simulation for each area.
In this simulation, which proved to work well, different coal production possibilities in the +18 mm +12 mm, +25 mm and +30 mm mesh sizes were investigated using the washability properties of the re-identified and supplied coals from these areas and their economic benefits were evaluated.
As a result of thestudies; the washability data obtained forTunçbilek, Ömerler, Dereköy, Soma regionand Çan were applied together with equipment parameters in the simulation and different coal production possibilities were determined. Different coal production possibilities with the advantages and disadvantages of traditional coal production have been realized. It is aimed to enlighten the market and industry if improvements are made.
