Psikolojik Belirtilerin Yordayıcısı Olarak Sosyal Problem Çözme, Aile İşlevselliği ve Benliğin Ayrımlaşmasının Rolünün İncelenmesi
Özet
In this study, relationships between family functioning, differentiation of self, social
problem solving and psychological symptoms were examined. The role of
differentiation of self and social problem solving skills in the relationship between
family functioning and psychological symptoms was investigated. 425 students
attending the undergraduate education at Hacettepe University participated in the study.
Personal Information Form, Family Assessment Device, Differentiation of Self Scale,
Social Problem Solving Inventory-Short Form and Brief Symptom Inventory were used
to collect information from participants. As a result of correlation analysis, it was
observed that there were significant relations between family functioning,
differentiation of self, social problem solving and psychological symptoms in the
expected direction. As the family functionality increases, the level of differention of self
and social problem solving skills increase, and psychological symptoms decreases. As
the level of differentiation of self increases, social problem solving skill increases and
psychological symptom level decreases. Increase in social problem skills is also
associated with a decrease in psychological symptom level. A difference was found
between genders in all variables and some dimensions of these variables except
perceived family functioning. It was found that who the person lived with was related to
total differention of self level, emotional reactivity, fusion with others and depression
symptoms. The mediating roles of self differentiation and social problem solving in the
relationship between family functioning and psychological symptoms was examined by
Serial Multiple Mediator Analysis and it is concluded that the established model is
statistically significant. In the relationship between family functioning and
psychological symptoms, differentiation of self and social problem solving skill have a
mediating role both separately and together.
