Türk Müziğinde İcra -Teori Birliğini Sağlama Konusunda Ana Dizi Etkeni

Abstract

The long-term contradiction between performance and theory in Turkish music has caused various problems in the area of education. The main reason behind these problems seem to be many contradictory ideas about topics such as ‘the main scale, intervals and intonations (frets)’. We think that the selection of the right ‘basic scale’ should be a remedial factor for solving the problems preventing the unification of performance and theory in Turkish music. Within this study, it is proposed to grant the ‘natural C major (A=440hz)’ scale-that is adop-table to the historical Turkish Music scale of 17 frets as the scale of Rast makam. Such an acceptance in the areas of performance and education will help to increase the international recognition of Turkish music, strengthen the ‘performance-theory’ unification and support the coordination between the musical notation and the performance.
