The preschool period is a period in which contains many critical periods and qualified support is needed to successfully overcome these critical periods. Like many other developmental areas, executive function skills and geometric perception develop during the preschool period. In this study, the relationship between preschool children's executive function skills and the recognition of geometric shapes was investigated. The research type is the mixed method research. The study group consisted of 100 children aged 48-66 months attending official kindergartens of the Ministry of Education in Denizli. In the research The Childhood Executive Functioning Inventory (CHEXI) and Geometric Shapes Recognition Test were used as data collection methods. Preschool children's executive function skills and recognition of geometric shapes were examined separately according to age, gender, parental education level, preschool education year and income level. As a result of the analysis of the obtained data, no significant relationship was found between preschool children’s executive function skills and geometric shapes recognition total scores. It was found that there was a significant relationship between the subscale of the circle of recognition of geometric shapes and the CHEXI. It was concluded that executive function skills scores and geometric shape recognition scores don’t differ according to age, gender, education level of parents, income level and preschool education year.
