Özet
The confessional poem genre was originated between 1950s and 1960s which generally uses concepts including terms such as “personal” or “I”. Therefore, the artist’s main concept is himself/herself, sharing numerous details about his/her life. The artist reenacts the traumatic events by using confessional narrative as a result of a creative writing process. The focus of the thesis is the visual representations created by the artist by using the confessional narrative.
The term fragmentation is a technique including a stylistic structure which is used to express the visual representation of the emotional state of mind. When fragmentation is combined with confessional narrative, its main goal is to demonstrate the fracture which is created by the mental situation. Studies surrounding the research focus on the stylistic structure used in the frame of fragmentation technique.
The confessional narrative deals with the analysis of the artists who reflect themselves on their works and studies surrounding these works, the fact that artists reflect their trauma while they create these works by studying how they turned their misfortunes into works of art. During the creation of the thesis, after literature research, application studies were carried out. Productions as gravure and paintings were applied in collage logic. Formal expression has been attempted with fragmentation. Pictorial expression was experimented with fragmentation.
