Atık Sulardan Fenolik Bileşiklerin Uzaklaştırılması için Yeni Nesil Destek Malzemeleri
Abstract
Wastewater treatment, apart from the legal limitations, is essential for preservation of the ecosystem and human health. Phenol and its derivatives, with their intensive use in industries such as iron and steel, petrochemicals, dyes, medicines, etc. are the main constituents of pollution for wastewater. The present study aims at purification of phenolic compounds in wastewater by enzymatic oxidation method. Trametes versicolor laccase, due to its ability in oxidation of phenolic compounds through combining with molecular oxygen as an electron acceptor, was preferably used in enzymatic oxidation technique. Due to such advantages as low production cost, re-usability, storage stability and easy removal from the medium after the reaction, immobilized enzyme rather than free enzyme was used.
