Escherichia Coli Suşlarında Antibiyotik Dirençliliği ve Biyofilm Oluşumunun Araştırılması
Özet
E. coli, which is found in human and animals natural flora, is also the most common factor of the community and hospital-acquired infections. E. coli strains could form a biofilm layer by colonising to organic or inorganic surface areas.Upper layers of biofilm layer formed by living together of microorganisms stuck to a specific surface area protect microorganisms against antimicrobial agents by forming a barrier and enhance the development of resistance. Prevention of biofilm formation is extremely important for prevention of increase in antimicrobial drug resistance. In this study, E. coli strains isolated from different services and clinical materials from a hospital located in Ankara were identified by means of phenotypical methods. Distribution of these strains according to age and gender of the patients were determined.
