Özet
The purpose of the study is investigating effects of problem solving strategiesinstruction, thinking styles and critical thinking levels on the predominantlyconceptual or procedural knowledge preferences of preservice elementarymathematics teachers in their problem solving process, problem solvingperformances and their views about problem solving process.Quasi experimental design was used for this study and it was conducted with twogroups of preservice teachers consisting of totally 51 preservice elementarymathematics teachers in a public university. Quantitative analysis were used forthe first four research problems and qualitative analysis were used for the lastresearch problem of this study.
