Programlama Performansını Etkileyen Faktörlerin Bilişsel Tabanlı Bireysel Farklılıklar Temelinde Modellenmesi
Abstract
This study is aimed to determine the effects of cognitive based individual differences along with the other demographic characteristics on undergraduate students programming performance and to model the programming performance based on the cognitive factors related to programming. Considering the spatial ability and the working memory variables as cognitive and self-efficacy, gender, prior experience and university variables as non-cognitive individual differences, this study is designed to address how much of variance of programming performance is predicted and what the importance rank of those variables are.The study group included 129 sophomores who were enrolled in Programming Language-I course at the Computer Education and Instructional Technologies Department in three different universities located in Ankara.
