Abstract
This research has been carried out in order
to take opinions of preschool teachers about assessment of behavioral problems of
36-72 month-old children and capabilities of class and behaviour management. In
accordance with this purpose, the questionnaire named as “Research on Opinions of
Preschool Teachers about Behavioral Problems of 36-72 month-old Children” which
was developed by the researcher as a data collection tool, has been used.
The sample group of the reserach has been established by 238 preschool
teachers who work with 36-72 month children at 54 schools of Ministry of National
Education at the province of Ankara for 2012-2013 academic year.
For analyzing the data, descriptive statistics (frequencies (f), percentages (%),
mean), Chi-Square, t-test and one way ANOVA tests have been used. The collected
data has been evaluated by SPSS 20.0 package program. Significant level value 0.05
was accepted to standard level for comparing the data.
As a resut of statistical analyses, significant correlation has been detected
between assessment of behavioral problems, class & behavioral management and
age, experience and education of preschool teachers (p<0.05). Also a result of this
study, it has been observed that the percentage of preschool teachers who do not have
satisfying knowledge about behavioral problems is high. In addition, it has been
regarded that partnership with colleagues, family and field experts is not sufficient,
and consulting expert opinion has not been preferred adequately.
