Bilişsel, Duygusal, Dürtüsel ve Sosyal Alanlardaki Benlik Kontrolünün Benlik Kaynaklarının Tüketilmesi Üzerindeki Etkileri
Abstract
In the present research, based on the Strength Model of Self-Control, the purpose was to test the main effect of ego depletion –within the first experiment-, which was followed by a second experiment conducted to examine the effects of different spheres of initial self-control tasks on the performance of a subsequent self-control task that served as the dependent measure. Later, in order to provide an explanation for the findings-contrary to the Strength Model of Self-Control- of those two experiments, a further study was conducted which aimed to explore the effect of task difficulty, such as tasks demanding more self-control exertion, and the role of self-construals and motivational factors.Consequently, the results indicated it seems important that the ego depletion effect should be further studied by considering the motivational factors and cultural tendencies in many aspects and dimensions just as a similar perspective has been offered and actualized recently.
