Abstract
Discrimination is a multi-dimensional problem. It has a psychological, a sociological, a legal and a political dimension. Besides, discrimination problem has a human rights dimension. Discrimination as a ‘human rights violation’ is one of the most important problem in the protection of human rights. Therefore while fighting against discrimination the multidimensional nature of the problem should have been taken into account. This thesis aims to underline the importance of the human rights dimension in the fight against discrimination.The first chapter of the thesis discusses discrimination conceptually. It presents types of discrimination and the causes of discrimination.The second chapter lays out the tools of combating discrimination and mentions ‘positive discrimination’ as a tool of combating discrimination.
