İskeletsel Sınıf I Maksiller Darlık Olgularında Kapaklı ve Kapaksız Braket Sistemlerinin Dentofasiyal Yapılara Olan Etkilerinin Değerlendirilmesi
Abstract
The aim of the present study is to evaluate the effects of two different treatment systems with regard to the effects on dentofacial system, transverse dimensional changes in maxillary arch, changes in maxillary molar inclinations, clinical periodontal parameters, intensity of pain and total treatment time in Class I patients with dentally constricted maxillary arch and moderate crowding. For this purpose, 17 patients (with a mean age of 14,5 year) underwent orthodontic treatment with Roth prescribed conventional Edgewise bracket systems after expanding the maxillary arch with Quad-Helix appliance and 16 patients (with a mean age of 14,8 year) underwent orthodontic treatment with self-ligating (Damon 3MX) bracket system. Each subject s digital lateral cephalometric, posteroanterior radiographs and dental study casts were obtained at the beginning of the treatment and after debonding. In addition to these, periodontal index and pain scores were obtained. Cephalometric data showed that,
