Abstract
The issues of Turkish Librarianship from 1991 to 1995 were examined to study the
accuracy of citations in library literature in Turkey. A total of 220 references from 102
articles were verified. In 109 references, 160 errors were detected. The results of the
study show that library and information professionals, in spite of their awareness of
difficulties posed by inaccurate citations, are prone to making such mistakes themselves.
