ABSTRACT: In this study, effectiveness of the information literacy program which was developed for inital teacher training students, their perceived computer self efficacy, relation between their perceived computer self efficacy and information literacy achievement were investigated. Where initial teacher training students con~idered themselves as information literate was also examined.
Three instruments were used for the study: An achievement test which was used as pre and post test, computer self efficacy and information literacy proficiency scales.
The results showed that information literacy program was effective, however, perceived computer self efficacy of the initial teacher training students was low and there
was a relationship on a medium level between their perceived self efficacy and achievement of information literacy. It was also found out that initial teacher training students
needed more information both on computer and information literacy.
