Bilgi Toplumu: Eleştirel Bir Yaklaşım

Abstract

"Information society" is one of the concepts which are often used in the recent years. With this concept it is expressed a new society structurewhich is formed by the advances in the communication and information technologies. It is accepted that computer is the messenger of this new society/age. Besides, "information" became the most important power in "information society/age". But the concept of information society is used without interrogating sufficently. if the main problems like health, education, food, social security, intellectual freedom, democracy of humankind are eveluated with a true approach, it will be difficult to say that we got into a newage. In this study, information society will be examined as a concept firstly and then, discussed on the base of terrninological aspect and today's situation of humankind.
