In a globalizing world, tourism has become an important item of income and prestige of countries. Countries that want to increase their share in the tourism market are trying to diversify their potential.
Gastronomy tourism is one of the elements of this diversification. Gastronomy festivals are also the most important events in the field of gastronomy. This study examines the gastronomy festivals in Ukraine, argues their functions and discusses their positive and negative aspects. This study explains with various examples of how Ukraine has benefited for its political and cultural development from gaining independence in 1991 and studies the effect of this independence on festivals.
At the end of the study, it is determined that the Gastronomy Festivals in Ukraine brought a great benefit to the promotion of the country and its culture, the economic, social, psychological, environmental and cultural functions of the Ukrainian community, especially in the regions hosting the festivals were examined and detailed information and visuals about the Gastronomy Festivals were presented.
