It is important not only for the employees, but also for the organizations in which they are
employed that there is a balance between work and family expectations. Especially, the concept
of work-family conflict, whose origins go back to the industrial revolution and which has been
studied more and more frequently in the literature since the 1950s, is one of the main factors that
must be overcome as soon as possible by the 21st century, otherwise it has a negative impact on
the performance of both the employee and his organization. Within the frame of this study, the
relationship between perceived external prestige and job crafting with work-family conflict, and
the mediator effect of person-organization fit in the relationship between job crafting and workfamily conflict. Data obtained from 243 employees were processed with SPSS and PROCESS
macro program, and it's found that there is a negative and statistically significant relationship
between perceived external prestige and work-family conflict; and also, there is also a positive
and statistically significant relationship between job crafting and work-family conflict. However,
the hypothesis that claims perceived person-organization fit plays a mediating role in the
relationship between job crafting and work-family conflict was rejected.
