The purpose of the study is to examine the moderating role of technology use after work hours on the relationship between work – family conflict and employee well - being. For this purpose, work – family conflict was measured with three dimensions as time based, strain based and behavior based work – family conflict. Also employee well - being was analyzed as one dimension.
In this study, the data were collected from 205 white collar employees working in information technology (IT) sector in Ankara through a self-report questionnaire. Two scale items from work – family conflict scale andone scale item from employee well - being scale was taken out and was not included in the further analyses after factor analysis. According to the obtained data, there are negative and significant relationships between each dimensions of work – family conflict and employee wellbeing. The hypothesized relationships was tested by using moderation analysis in PROCESS Macro.Results revealed that technology use after work hours doesn’ t act as a moderator on the work – family conflict and employee well – being relation. In other words, there is no moderating effect of technology use on work – family conflict and employee well – being relation. This study has implications for the organizations and executives who aim to understand their employees’ wellbeing, raise their performance and provide them a comfortable work environment.
