Queer ve Feminist Pedagojiler Temelinde Ankara’da Lise Öğretmenleri Üzerine Bir Araştırma
Özet
Due to the individual differences, some students may be exposed to discrimination and bullying in schools where dominant culture is maintained. Teachers' approaches and attitudes have a decisive role to achive gender equality and anti-discrimination in the process of education. The main aim of this research is to examine the thoughts of high school teachers about queer individuals with in-depth interviews; to evaluate the reflections of these thoughts on their behavior in an anti-discrimination education process within the conceptual and theoretical framework of feminist and queer pedagogies. First of all, it will be discussed whether 20 teachers in different branches and ages have negative thoughts about queer individuals in relation to demographic information. In the following part, the reflections of the teachers' thoughts on their behaviors/attitudes in the educational process and the pedagogy, methods and techniques they prefer for an anti-discrimination education will be evaluated. Additionally, the responsibilities of teachers, school and national education for an anti-discrimination education will be discussed in the thesis. Finally, suggestions will be given in the direction of feminist and queer pedagogies in order to determine which pedagogies, methods and techniques can be used, how the class atmosphere can be positively structured in this regard in order to prevent discrimination in the schools.
