Flüt Eğitiminde Diyafram Nefesi Öğretimi ve Doğru Nefes Kullanımı ile Diyaframdan Üfleme Çalışmaları
Abstract
Proper knowledge and application of breathing from the diaphragm with correct
exhalation methods are important for flute playing as it is vital for other wind
instruments. This study is aimed to show different application results, relevant
research and examples of exhalation methods to guide the wind instrument
artists by explaining the importance of the proper use of breath and diaphragm.
This study may also be used as a source of study for other academical surveys
as a guide.
Handling the instrument and the body adjustment according to the handling
before playing is as important as playing the instrument itself. Best playing
experience is gained by achieving the body comfort while handling the
instrument. From this point of view, performance is maximized while performing
(concert, recital, orchestral work etc.) if the body position is adjusted according
to the instrument before playing and giving the artist controlled and comfortable
experience over the instrument. Regular practice is required for this body
position to become a habit. As a result of these practices; coordinated body
positioning, instrument handling and maximized performance manifest
themselves as player’s natural reflexes.
The individual which starts to play the flute, develops a habit and technique of
diaphragm usage. Proper breathing application can be achieved by training the
diaphragm itself with the exercises like inhaling, holding and exhaling the breath
combined with body positioning and handling the instrument. These exercises
are important and have a big impact on artist’s performance. Achieving the
harmonized usage of proper body positioning and diaphragm breathing
techniques increases the performer’s tone, intonation, and body comfort while
playing.
This study could be considered as a contributive work with its subject to other
academical surveys, flute players and also flute students.
