Avazzade E., Comparison of postoperative results with expected outcomes of preoperative planning in orthognatic surgery patients, Hacettepe University, Faculty of Medicine, Thesis in Plastic, Reconstrucive and Aesthetic Surgery, Ankara 2018
In this study, 49 Class III malocclusion patients operated for orthognatic surgery in Hacettepe University Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Department and received orthognatic treatment in Hacettepe University, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Orthodontics, were evaluated for age, sex, preoperative orthodontic treatment time, type of surgery retrospectively over preoperative and postoperative cephalometric analyszes.
Cephalometric analyzes of maxillary and mandibular movements on vertical and horizontal plane were executed through lateral cephalograms of patients. Steiner’s cephalometric analysis was used for cephalometric evaluation. Recorded parameters were; sna, snb, anb, 1-na, 1-na angle, 1-nb, 1-nb angle, “occlusal plane”, go-gn-sn angle, inter-inciser angle, wits value. The results were statistically evaluated.
Significant statistical differences were detected between all preoperative and postoperative parameters obtained in the cephalometric analysis. We were able to obtain desired orthognathic profile in all of the patients.
