Abstract
From the pursuable ancient eras of Turkish language up to now, the present time is explained by using some various suffixes or words. Until Khorezmian Turkic language era, simple present tense suffixes -Ar/- (X)r used for present continuous tense too. Among the process starting from Ottoman Turkish to Modern Turkey Turkish, present continuous tense (-yor) turned into a standart variant.
Different from standard language, dialects are prosperous from the manner of present continuous suffixes. In Turkey Turkish, present continuous suffix is renewed with "-A yorı-r" structure. In dialects, it is possible to mention about prosperous suffixes developed from both this compounded verb and present continuous suffixes developed from other structures. In Southwest Anatolian Dialects, spoken local variants are various in the manner of present continuous suffixes. This variety was aimed to be highlighted by us.
In this study, in Introduction part where general information is provided, tense and present continuous tense were slightly mentioned. Then, usage of present continuous suffixes of Turkish in ancient eras and dialect terms were concentrated.
In the second part, inventory of the present tense suffixes of Southwest Anatolian Dialects identified from the available sources were collected and the variance of the suffixes is also shown via the chart.
In the third part, present continuous suffixes was intended to have an approach of linguistic manner, limited by "focality" parameter.
