Abstract
The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of ergonomic awareness training on musculoskeletal system, physical activity level and life quality in adolescents.54 adolescents between the ages of 15-17 who met inclusion criteria were divided into two groups as intervention and control group. The ergonomic awareness, muscle strength, shortness, flexibility, posture analysis, musculuskeletal system pains, listening to lesson and writing postures, physical activity levels, life quality and fatigue were evaluated as pre-posttraining. In the intervention group, ergonomic awareness training was given 20-30 minutes one day per week for 6 weeks, after that exercise program was applied including strengthening, stretching and relaxation exercises for large muscle group 20-30 minutes three times a week for 6 weeks. The control group was informed by the brochure during this period and the home program was given.Totaly ergonomic awereness training were applied for 12 weeks. In the intervention group, significant changes were found ergonomic awareness, muscle strength, shortness, flexibility, musculoskeletal system pain, listening lesson and writing hazardous postures, physical activity levels, some parameters of life quality and (p<0,05), but significant change was not obtained for fatigue (p>0,05). In the control group, although there was generally improvement in these parameters, there was a significant change only for some parameters of muscle strength, flexibility, musculoskeletal system pain and life quality (p<0,05). The other parameters were not found significant changes (p>0,05). The result of our investigation is that ergonomic training and exercise programe have positive effects on musculoskeletal system and the informed with brochure, home program contribute this. It is found that the training with physiotherapist and exercise program are more effective than informed with brochure and home program. It is thought that ergonomic awareness training which reduced MSD and should be continued in this age group.
