1999 Marmara Depremlerinin Etkilerinin Travma Sonrası Gelişim Modeli Çerçevesinde Değerlendirilmesi
Abstract
This study was conducted in order to examine the effects of Marmara Eartquake on local residents 16 years after the event, within the frame of Posttraumatic Growth Model. To that end, a total of 187 people who have witnessed Kocaeli Earthquake and who still live in the region, aged between 33 and 58 were reached out. Participants were recruited by snowball sampling method. Participants completed Demographic Information Form, Posttraumatic Growth Scale, Disclosure of Trauma, Level of Self-Disclosure of Trauma and Resources of Self Disclosure, Trauma Severity, Positive Negative Affect Scale, Multidimensional Perceived Social Support. Structural Equation Modeling results indicated that posttraumatic growth predicted positive affect, perceived social support and emotional reactions during self-disclosure of trauma.
